Di-Et trichloromethylphosphonate (I) is heated with KF.2H2O to give CHCl3; I is heated with anhydrous KF to give (EtO)2P(O)F. I is treated with anhydrous KF in cyclohexene and the dichlorocarbene obtained adds to cyclohexene to give 7,7-dichlorobicyclo[4.1.0]heptane (II). I is treated with KF in MeOH to give (EtO)2POMe.
