N-Methyl-N,N-dioctyloctan-1-aminium chloride (cas: 5137-55-3) belongs to organic chlorides. Chlorination modifies the physical properties of hydrocarbons in several ways. These compounds are typically denser than water due to the higher atomic weight of chlorine versus hydrogen. Organochlorine compounds are lipophylic, meaning they are more soluble in fat than in water. This gives them a high tenancy to accumulate in the food chain (biomagnification).Related Products of 5137-55-3

This work aims to removing anionic food dyes, Acid Red18 (E124) and Quinoline Yellow WS (E104), from their aqueous solutions The Emulsion Liquid Membrane (ELM) technique was used. ELM consists of diluent (kerosene), nonionic surfactant (0.5 weight% Triton X-45), Aliquat 336 as an extractant. Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution was used as an internal aqueous phase. The key parameters impacting the stability of liquid membrane and the efficiency of dye removal were investigated; Almost 98% of E124 at 50 mg/L are successfully extracted under optimum conditions. The extraction of a mixture of the two dyes at equal concentrations (25 mg/L) was conducted and their extraction showed more than 95% of efficiency. The exptl. results of dye mixture (E124, E104) extraction were expressed by the following three quantities: The concentration of Triton X-45, the concentration of Aliquat 336, and the internal phase concentration of H2SO4, represented on three dimensional plots using the Box-Behnken design and the response surface methodol. For each of the parameters, the values of which were determined by exptl. design, these results were subjected to empirical smoothing. The values, thus calculated, are consistent with the measurements. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as N-Methyl-N,N-dioctyloctan-1-aminium chloride (cas: 5137-55-3Related Products of 5137-55-3).

This work is focused on the design and preparation of polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) for potential applications for stannous cation sequestration from water. For this purpose, the membranes have been synthesized employing two polymeric matrixes, namely, polyvinylchloride (PVC) and cellulose triacetate (CTA), properly enriched with different plasticizers. The novelty here proposed relies on the modification of the cited PIMs by selected extractants expected to interact with the target cation in the membrane bulk or onto its surface, as well as in the evaluation of their performances in the sequestration of tin(II) in solution through chemometric tools. The composition of both the membrane and the solution for each trial was selected by means of a D-Optimal Exptl. Design. The samples such prepared were characterized by means of TG-DTA, DSC, and static contact angles investigations; their mech. properties were studied in terms of tensile strength and elastic modulus, whereas their morphol. was checked by SEM. The sequestering ability of the PIMs toward stannous cation was studied by means of kinetic and isotherm experiments using DP-ASV. The presence of tin in the membranes after the sequestration tests was ascertained by μ-ED-XRF mapping on selected samples. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as N-Methyl-N,N-dioctyloctan-1-aminium chloride (cas: 5137-55-3Category: chlorides-buliding-blocks).

Chitosan biopolymer was converted to thiourea-chitosan followed by impregnation with ionic liquid Aliquat-336 using microwave irradiation method. The obtained material Ionic Liquid-Thiourea Chitosan (ILTC) was effectively used for decontamination of Cd(II) and Hg(II) from water bodies. FT-IR, SEM-EDX, XRD and TGA-DTA gives insight of ILTC adsorbent. Choro-complexes of Cd(II) and Hg(II) showed strong adsorption on ILTC as compared native Cd(II) and Hg(II) ions hence the adsorption was carried out in the form of chloro complexes. The adsorption behavior of Cd (II) and Hg (II) ions onto ILTC was investigated through batch method and various batch parameters viz. Contact time, adsorbent dose, initial concentration of adsorbate, pH and point of zero charge were optimized. The maximum adsorption capacities for Cd (II) and Hg (II) at 298 K were found to be 442.5 mg/g and 203.2 mg/g resp. at pH 3.0. Kinetic and thermodn. parameters of the adsorption process were obtained. The results indicated that adsorption process was spontaneous, exothermic and followed pseudo-second-order kinetics model. Column studies were carried out in order to access the applicability of the material for bulk samples at larger volumes ILTC could be easily regenerated and efficiently reused. Multivariate anal. of different chem. pretreatment methods can aid to select the most appropriate strategy to valorize a particular biomass. Results: Amongst methods tested, the pretreatment by using sodium hydroxide in combination with methyltrioctylammonium chloride, an ionic liquid, (NaOH+IL) was the most significant for xylanase production by Bacillus aestuarii UE25. Investigation of optimal levels of five significant variables by adopting Box-Behnken design (BBD) predicted 20 IU mL-1 of xylanase and exptl., a titer of 17.77 IU mL-1 was obtained which indicated the validity of the model. The production kinetics showed that volumetric productivity of xylanase was much higher after 24 h (833.33 IU L-1 h-1) than after 48 h (567.08 IU L-1 h-1). The extracted xylan from SB induced more xylanase in the fermentation medium than pretreated SB or com. purified xylan. NMR, Fourier transform IR spectroscopy and SEM of SB indicated removal of lignin and changes in the structure of SB after NaOH+IL pretreatment and fermentation Conclusion: Combined pretreatment of SB with alkali and methyltrioctylammonium chloride appeared better than other chem. methods for bacterial xylanase production and for the extraction of xylan form SB. In this study, a magnetic waste-tyre derived activated carbon modified with methyltrioctylammonium chloride, was successfully synthesized, characterised, and applied for the extraction and preconcentration of four non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in wastewater. The SEM and N2-adsorption/desorption anal. results confirmed that the synthesized nanocomposite was porous with a large sp. surface area of 570 m2 g-1. The significant factors affecting the Ultrasonic assisted magnetic solid phase extraction method were investigated using univariate approach and response surface methodol. The optimum conditions for the extraction and preconcentration of the target analytes were 0%, 15 min, 6.5 and 30 mg, for ionic strength, extraction time, pH and adsorbent mass resp. The quantification of the target analytes was performed using high performance liquid chromatog. equipped with diode array detector. Under optimum conditions, low limits of detection and quantification ranging between 0.054-0.38μg L-1 and 0.18-1.27μg L-1, resp., were obtained. A wide linearity (ranging from limit of detection – 500μg L-1 with R2 ≥ 0.99) and precision lower than 7%, were achieved. In the present research, several novel and natural hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were prepared using methyltrioctylammonium chloride (MTOAC) as the hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and different types of straight chain alcs. as hydrogen bond donors (HBDs). One of the DESs composed of MTOAC and n-butanol was advantageously used to develop a vortex-assisted liquid phase microextraction (VALPME) method combined with high-performance liquid chromatog.-UV detection (HPLC-UV) for the determination of common acaricides in fruit juice samples. Several important parameters influencing extraction efficiency were investigated and optimized, including the type and volume of DES, sample solution pH, effect of salt addition and, extraction and vortex time. Under optimal exptl. conditions, the method showed good linearity with the correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.9986-0.9991 in the linear range of 2-300μg L-1, low limits of detection of 0.5-1μg L-1 and acceptable extraction recoveries in the range of 85-93%. Solvent impregnated resins (SIRs) were prepared by dry impregnation using styrene-divinylbenzene type macroreticular resin (HZ-818) as support and trioctylmethylammonium chloride as extractant. Adsorption and separation performance of In(III) and Fe(III) with SIRs was studied on HCl medium by static and dynamic adsorption method. The effect of HCl concentration on the adsorption of In(III) and Fe(III) was investigated by static adsorption method. The effect of feed flow rate, bed height, and metal ion concentration (In(III) and Fe(III)) was investigated by dynamic adsorption method. The optimized acidity for In(III) and Fe(III) adsorption with SIRs was 4 mol/L HCl in single-component and bi-component systems containing In(III) and Fe(III). The dynamic adsorption study revealed that when the concentration of HCl, feed flow rate, bed height, and metal ion concentration were 4 mol/L, 1.4 mL/min, 140 mm, and 90 mg/L at ambient temperature, the adsorption capacities of In(III) and Fe(III) in single-component system were 13.1 and 37.8 mg/g, resp., and the adsorption capacities of In(III) and Fe(III) in bi-component system were 1.3 and 35.8 mg/g, resp. Hence, SIRs could selectively adsorb Fe(III), and the separation of In(III) and Fe(III) in HCl solution could be achieved. Removal of picloram herbicide from an aqueous environment using polymer inclusion membranes was written by Mwakalesi, Alinanuswe J.;Potter, Ian D.. The picloram (4-amino-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid) herbicide is widely applied to control the growth of woody plants and it has been frequently detected in aqueous environments due to its poor adsorption by soils and high leaching potential. Consequently, the removal of picloram from contaminated environmental waters is of major concern due to its adverse impacts on aquatic organisms, soils and animals. The development of a method for the extraction and transport of picloram from aqueous solutions using a polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) composed of cellulose triacetate, trioctylmethylammonium chloride (Aliquat 336) and 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE) is reported. The exptl. method was optimized for the PIM composition, and the type and concentration of stripping reagent. The optimized method demonstrated good performance indicators of flux and transport efficiency for picloram during non-competitive and competitive transport experiments The PIM was also successfully applied in a passive sampling device to recover picloram at the maximum permissable concentration of 500μg/L from a complex matrix of natural water. The iodide recycling enzyme, iodotyrosine deiodinase (IYD), is a largely unstudied mol. mechanism through which environmental chems. can potentially cause thyroid disruption. This highly conserved enzyme plays an essential role in maintaining adequate levels of free iodide for thyroid hormone synthesis. Thyroid disruption following in vivo IYD inhibition has been documented in mammalian and amphibian models; however, few chems. have been tested for IYD inhibition in either in vivo or in vitro assays. Presented here are the development and application of a screening assay to assess susceptibility of IYD to chem. inhibition. With recombinant human IYD enzyme, a 96-well plate in vitro assay was developed and then used to screen over 1800 unique substances from the U. S. EPA ToxCast screening library. Through a tiered screening approach, 194 IYD inhibitors were identified (inhibited IYD enzyme activity by 20% or greater at target concentration of 200μM). 154 chems. were further tested in concentration-response (0.032-200μM) to determine IC50 and rank-order potency. This work broadens the coverage of thyroid-relevant mol. targets for chem. screening, provides the largest set of chems. tested for IYD inhibition, and aids in prioritizing chems. for targeted in vivo testing to evaluate thyroid-related adverse outcomes. Cr(VI)-contaminated water poses a serious threat to the environment. In this study, capsule-type biosorbent Aliquat-336-filled chitosan capsules (AFCCs) were prepared by a simple and gentle method for more efficient and eco-friendly removal of Cr(VI). The exptl. results show that the uptake of Cr(VI) by AFCCs increased with increasing Aliquat-336 content. The AFCCs show excellent stability under acidic conditions, and the maximum adsorption capacity was reached at a pH of 2. The maximum adsorption capacity of AFCCs for Cr(VI) was 110.94± 5.07 mg/g at 20°C, which was calculated based on the Langmuir model. The kinetic results show that the adsorption rate control process changed from liquid film diffusion to a chem. reaction with increasing shaking rate. In addition, the AFCCs and adsorption-reduction mechanism of Cr(VI) were characterized by digital photog., electron microscope, zeta potential, Fourier-transform IR spectroscopy (FT-IR) and XPS. The results indicated that the electrostatic attraction between quaternary amine groups in Aliquat-336 and Cr(VI) anions plays a major role in the removal of Cr(VI). Subsequently, the adsorbed Cr(VI) obtained electrons from C-C/C-H and -NH+3/-NH+2- were reduced to Cr(III), while C-C/C-H and -NH+3/-NH+2- were oxidized to C-O, C=O, =NH+-, =N- and N-O, resp.
