In this paper, we prepared a series of Ce1-xTixO2 (x = 0-0.20) nanorods by hydrothermal method, which were used to construct the PdCu/Ce1-xTixO2 catalysts. The Ce1-xTixO2 and PdCu/Ce1-xTixO2 samples were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), XPS, N2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES), etc. Catalytic activity, stability, and repeatability of the catalysts for methanol oxidation were investigated. The results show that doping a proper amount of titanium could strengthen the interaction between Ce1-xTixO2 support and PdCu nanoalloy, thus increasing the oxygen vacancy concentration and promoting Pd species with a higher oxidation state. These modified properties are beneficial for the deep oxidation of methanol. The light-off temperature (T50) and full-conversion temperature (T90) of methanol over the PdCu/CeO2 catalyst are 108 °C and 159°C, resp. The greatest activity improvement is found for PdCu/Ce0.9Ti0.1O2, which shows the lowest T50 of 88°C and T90 of 138°C. Furthermore, neither PdCu/CeO2 nor the modified PdCu/CeO2 catalyst produces byproducts and exhibit excellent stability and repeatability throughout the whole test period. This study provides a reference for in-depth understanding and designing of efficient and stable CeO2-based oxidation catalysts. To gain insight into this method, we studied the effect of the micellar interface on the synthesis of Ch-NPs. Both benzyl-n-hexadecyldimethylammonium chloride (BHDC) and AOT RMs were assessed, since there are remarkable differences between their interfacial water entrapped structure. Ch-NPs were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering, and SEM. Simulation studies by mol. theory were also performed. On the other hand, Ch-NPs obtained under different conditions were assessed in terms of their ability to solubilize curcumin, whose numerous therapeutic properties are somewhat countered by its poor solubility in water. The results show that Ch-NPs can be obtained from AOT and BHDC RMs by the reverse micellar method. The crosslinking reaction takes place in the micellar interface, and is more effective in AOT RMs. This difference in effectiveness can be attributed to the different positions Ch acquires in each of the two RMs tested. Finally, the NPs notably enhance the water solubility of curcumin, and particle size is the main determining factor for encapsulation efficiency. In this study, octahedrons assembled nanospheres Li4Ti5O12 (LTO-OS) with dominant (111) facet and nanosheets assembled microspheres Li4Ti5O12 (LTO-NS) with dominant (01-1) facet precursors were synthesized. Then, these corresponding H4Ti5O12 adsorbents (HTO-OS and HTO-NS) were obtained via acid treatment and used to recover lithium from aqueous solutions The systematic adsorption tests show that HTO-NS possesses higher adsorption uptake (35.5 mg/g) and faster adsorption rate (equilibrium time: <2 h) than HTO-OS (31.2 mg/g), owing to the role of different dehydration processes and exposed facets. With the help of DFT calculation analyses, the dehydration of Li(H2O)+4 on HTO (01-1) and (111) were partially dehydrated Li(H2O)+ and Li(H2O)+2 in the adsorption process, owing to crystal channel and surface at. arrangement. In addition, the anal. of the adsorption mechanism indicates that the Li+ exist in the form of hydrated lithium ions in the initial adsorption solution, and the dehydration processes occur during Li(H2O)+4 move to the surface of the adsorbent, then an ion exchange reaction has happened between the dehydrated Li+ and H+. These results reveal the adsorbents with different facets exposed indeed influence the surface dehydration processes and Li+ adsorption behaviors, which are favorable to better understand the interfacial interactions between adsorbents and adsorbates.
