To a stirred mixture of dichloromethane: trifluoroacetic acid (2 mL, 1:1) was added the protected sulfonamde (0.220 g, 0.42 mmol) under nitrogen. The resulting mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 4 h. The mixture was partitioned between dichloromethane and 10% aqueous potassium carbonate. The organic layer was washed with brine (1 X 20 mL), dried over magnesium sulfate, and filtered. Evaporation of the filtrate in vacuo gives 0.166 g (96%) of the pure title compound.
