Complexes were characterized by spectroscopic and crystallog. methods. Complex Ir-Pd showed an excellent catalytic activity for both Suzuki-Miyaura and Sonogashira cross coupling reactions under blue LED irradiation at ambient temperature This catalytic system was operated via light energy harvested by the Ir center, which was able to cooperate with Pd center for the coupling reactions to take place.
