Li, Fengqing published the artcileJ-aggregation in porphyrin nanoparticles induced by diphenylalanine, Quality Control of 42074-68-0, the publication is Journal of Solid State Chemistry (2017), 86-92, database is CAplus.

In this report, L-diphenylalanine-decorated tetraphenylporphyrin (TPPtFFC) was synthesized and self-assembled into regular nano-architectures. The morphol. of the assemblies varied with the concentration of TPPtFFC. The absorption spectra of the nanoparticles show the Soret band merges with the Q bands and redistributes with great red-shift, indicative of the formation of J-aggregates of the porphyrin mols. The fluorescence emission of the nanoparticles is merged and red-shifted to near-IR region. Studies of absorption and fluorescence spectra reveal an indispensable role of diphenylalanine group in the formation of J-aggregates. The Raman spectra disclose that diprotonation of the porphyrin core contributes to delocalized coherent excited states in the nanoparticles. The pos. Cotton effect in CD spectra corresponding to the Soret band of TPPtFFC in solution confirms the formation of J-aggregates with right-handed chirality of the dipole moment. This report will shed light on the rational design of porphyrin-peptide conjugates to mimic naturally light-harvesting complexes.

A redox-neutral ortho functionalization of aryl boroxines via Pd/NBE catalysis was reported. An electrophile, such as carboxylic acid anhydrides or O-benzoyl hydroxylamines, was coupled at the boroxine ortho position, and a proton as the second electrophile was introduced at the ipso position. This reaction did not require extra oxidants or reductants and avoided stoichiometric bases or acids, thereby tolerating a wide range of functional groups. In particular, orthogonal chemoselectivity between aryl iodide and boroxine moieties was demonstrated, which could be used to control reaction sequences. Finally, a deuterium-labeling study supported the ipso protonation pathway. This unique mechanistic feature could inspire the development of a new class of Pd/NBE-catalyzed transformations.

A novel catalyst by preparing silica supported EDTA (EDTA) platinum complex was developed. The preparation conditions, such as heating temperature and solvent types, were optimized. The catalyst was phosphine-free and sulfur-free which was characterized by IR spectroscopy (IR), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), XPS, UV spectroscopy (UV) and at. absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Its catalytic activity was evaluated by catalyzing solventless hydrosilylation reactions. In the hydrosilylation reaction between 1-hexene and methyldichlorosilane, the new catalyst showed a higher catalytic activity than that provided by Speier’s catalyst. Moreover, the new catalyst could be reused for 12 times without obvious loss of catalytic activity. To confirm its practical feasibility, catalyzing the hydrosilylation reaction between 1-octene and methyldichlorosilane was performed. Our results indicated that the new catalyst can efficiently catalyze the hydrosilylation reaction.

A smart design of transition metal nanocatalyst can efficiently improve its catalytic activity and use value. In this work, platinum (Pt) was successfully anchored to silica gel with phenylboronic acid group first time and formed nanoparticles (0.5-5 nm) which afforded a highly active supported catalyst for the hydrosilylation of olefins. The turnover number and regioselectivity in the reaction of methyldichlorosilane and 1-octene using 0.00000004 mol of the immobilized Pt catalyst approached 1,321,317 and 99% over 12 h. The corresponding hydrosilylation products in excellent yields and regioselectivities were obtained when we employed a broad range of terminal aliphatic olefins and methyldichlorosilane as substrates. The fully immobilized Pt nanoparticles could be recycled at least 10 runs without any obvious loss in catalytic activity.

Platinum was immobilized on magnetic silica gel by means of boronic, nitric, carboxylic or sulfuric acid ligands to give four heterogeneous Pt nano-catalysts, designated as Fe3O4@SiO2-BA@Pt, Fe3O4@SiO2-NA@Pt, Fe3O4@SiO2-CA@Pt and Fe3O4@SiO2-SA@Pt, resp. Particles of these mono-dispersible Pt catalysts were 10-20 nm in size and could be separated for recycling by means of a magnet. Fe3O4@SiO2-BA@Pt (0.174 mmol/g Pt) showed the best catalytic activity and selectivity, which were better than Speier’s catalyst. Its turnover numbers were up to 1.7 X 106 and 1.1 X 106 for hydrosilylation of 1-hexene or styrene, resp. This material could also catalyze the hydrosilylation of a broad range of alkenes and alkynes as substrates and methyldichlorosilane or triethoxysilane as silanes. Similar yields of 1-hexyl-methyldichlorosilane at the first and eighth runs (96.5% and 95.2%, resp.), together with a final Pt content of 0.171 mmol/g indicated the outstanding stability of Fe3O4@SiO2-BA@Pt under the catalytic reaction conditions.
