The paper presents results of research on the preparation of polisher agent used in copper electroplating (electropolisher) and intermediate required for the synthesis of N,N-diethylphenosafranine (I). The multi-step synthesis of the intermediate I comprises the nitrosation of N,N-diethylaniline, reduction of p-nitroso-N,N-diethylaniline, oxidation of the resulting N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine and its condensation with aniline. The polisher agent was obtained by diazotization of N,N-diethylphenosafranine and by reacting the resulting diazo compound with N,N-dimethylaniline, to obtain the product with absorption maximum λmax = 584 (300) nm. The usage tests of the newly developed product have shown very good application properties. The experimental process involved the reaction of 3-Amino-7-(diethylamino)-5-phenylphenazin-5-ium chloride(cas: 4569-86-2).COA of Formula: C22H23ClN4
