Abstract: A series of novel quinazolin-4-one derivatives (7a-7n) bearing the 7-oxo-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine moiety were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their inhibition activities against phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi in vitro. All of the target compounds were fully characterized through 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HRMS and IR spectra. Among these compounds, the structure of compound 7e was unambiguously confirmed via single-crystal X-ray diffraction anal. The turbidimetric assays indicated that compounds 7b, 7d, 7g, 7k and 7n exhibited much more potent inhibition activities against the pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), relative to control Bismerthiazol. Moreover, antibacterial activities of compounds 7j, 7k and 7n against the pathogen Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri (Xac) were comparable to that of control Bismerthiazol. As for the pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum (Rs), only compounds 7g and 7i demonstrated inhibition activities similar to control Thiadiazole-copper. Moreover, this class of compounds did not display inhibition activity against three fungi tested. The above findings indicated that quinazolin-4-one derivatives containing the 7-oxo-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine moiety have a potential as promising candidates for the development of new and more efficient agricultural bactericides. Antibiotic resistance is posing a continuous threat to global public health and represents a huge burden for society as a whole. In the past decade, the interference with bacterial quorum sensing (QS) (i.e., cell-cell communication) mechanisms has extensively been investigated as a valid therapeutic approach in the pursuit of a next generation of antimicrobials. (S)-4,5-Dihydroxy-2,3-pentanedione, commonly known as (S)-DPD, a small signaling mol. that modulates QS in both Gram-neg. and Gram-pos. bacteria, is phosphorylated by LsrK, and the resulting phospho-DPD activates QS. We designed and prepared a small library of DPD derivatives, characterized by five different scaffolds, and evaluated their LsrK inhibition in the context of QS interference. SAR studies highlighted the pyrazole moiety as an essential structural element for LsrK inhibition. Particularly, four compounds were found to be micromolar LsrK inhibitors (IC50 ranging between 100 μM and 500 μM) encouraging further exploration of novel analogs as potential new antimicrobials. A versatile and efficient method to prepare borylated arenes furnished with alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl and heteroaryl functional groups is developed by merging Ir-catalyzed C-H borylations (CHB) with a chemoselective Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of triorganoindium reagents (Sarandeses-Sestelo coupling) with aryl halides bearing a boronic ester substituent. The development of thin-film composite membranes has gained more importance as they exhibit higher permeability, higher solute rejection and improved antifouling behavior. The incorporation of hydrophilic nanomaterials within the composite thin film has reported to effectively increase the hydrophilicity and improve the membrane performance. In this study novel thin-film composite nanofiltration membranes were prepared by interfacial polymerization of trimesoyl chloride, polyvinylpyrolidone (PVP) and montmorillonite (MMT) composite on the porous polyethersulfone membrane. The effect of preparation parameters was studied as; reaction time, PVP concentration and MMT content. The properties of the prepared composite thin-film membranes were analyzed in terms of their chem. structure, surface morphol. features, pure water contact angle, zeta potential, pure water permeation flux (PWP) and solutes rejection. The prepared composite thin-film membranes showed smoother surfaces, different surfaces functionality and amphoteric surfaces with points of zero charge at pH 7-7.5. The PWP was found to increase with increasing MMT content up to 0.10 wt%. The rejection of crystal violet dye (CV) was studied using the prepared membranes. The membrane with 0.5% PVP, 0.10% MMT and 6 min reaction time showed PWP of 18.1 L/m2 h bar and CV rejection of 80.01%. The rejection of Na2SO4 and MgCl2 increased with increasing MMT content and reached 96% and 35.4%, resp. The closeness of fit of antibenzoate antibodies about haptens and the orientation of the haptens in combination was written by Pressman, David;Siegel, Malcolm;Hall, Luther A. R.. The inhibitory action of chloro-substituted phenylazobenzoates on the specific precipitation of antibodies formed against benzoate ions yielded information about the closeness of fit about hapten of the previously uninvestigated portion of the antibody complementary region. With antibodies to the o-azobenzoate ion, the fit about the benzene ring was closest in the 3- and 4-positions and least close in the 6-position. With antibodies to m-benzoate, the fit was closest in the 4-position, least close in the 5-position, and intermediate in the 2- and 6-positions. For those cases where 2 orientations for the combination of hapten with antibody are possible, such as with the chlorobenzoates, the relative distribution was calculated For example, m-chlorobenzoate, which has been considered to combine with anti-m-azobenzoate antibodies with the Cl in the azospecific site of the antibody, is calculated to combine to the extent of 10% in the nonpreferred orientation. Heterogeneous, platinum-catalyzed hydrogenation of (diolefin)dialkylplatinum(II) complexes: kinetics was written by Miller, Timothy M.;Izumi, Alan N.;Shih, Yen Shiang;Whitesides, George M.. And the article was included in Journal of the American Chemical Society in 1988.Reference of 12083-92-0 This article mentions the following:

(Diolefin)dialkylplatinum(II) complexes [(Ol2)PtR2] are rapidly reduced by H2 in the presence of Pt black catalyst: the organic groups are converted to alkanes, and the Pt(II) to Pt(0). This Pt(0) is incorporated into the surface of the Pt black catalyst. The reaction is a heterogeneous process catalyzed by Pt(0). Its rate is strongly influenced by mass transport and by the surface area of the catalyst. It is poisoned by dineopentylmercury, dioctyl sulfide, and tri-tert-butylphosphines. Because the catalyst surface is constantly renewed by deposition of Pt, the reaction is less sensitive to poisoning than more familiar Pt-catalyzed reactions such as hydrogenation of olefins. The form of the kinetic rate law observed for reduction of (1,5-cyclooctadiene)dimethylplatinum(II) depends on the reaction conditions. Two limiting kinetic regimes are observed In one, mass transport of H2 to the catalyst surface is rate-limiting; in the second, a reaction occurring on the Pt surface is rate-limiting. The activation energy for reaction in the mass transport limited regime is ∼3 kcal/mol and that in the reaction rate limited regime is ∼15 kcal/mol. In neither regime is there a kinetic isotope effect: νH2D2 = 1.0. Examination of the relative rates of reaction of a series of (diolefin)dialkyl + platinum(II) complexes indicates that the structure of the diolefin has a greater influence on the rate of reaction than does that of the alkyl group. Competitive experiments show that rates are influenced by adsorption of the (Ol2)PtR2 complex to the catalyst. These studies suggest that the Pt-catalyzed reaction of (Ol2)PtR2 with H2 takes place by a mechanism analogous to that of the Pt-catalyzed heterogeneous hydrogenation of olefins. The Pt atom originally present in the soluble complex is incorporated into the surface of the Pt catalyst and becomes the reactive site for a subsequent cycle of chemisorption and reaction. The reaction of (Ol2)PtR2 complexes with H2 thus provides a new method for generating Pt-surface alkyls under conditions representative of those used in heterogeneous Pt-catalyzed processes.
