A crosslinked anion-exchange membrane (AEM) with an in situ photoswitch was synthesized. The side-chain effects on the properties of the AEM were studied using the same membrane sample in different status. The variances between the different samples were eliminated. The hydroxide conductivity of AEM could be increased by reducing the distance between the cations.
